Vincent Deary Records Audiobook ‘How We Break’ at Flamingo Heights, with Penguin Random House

We recently had the privilege of welcoming an incredibly talented author, Vincent Deary, to Flamingo Heights Podcast Studio, to record the audiobook adaptation of his book ‘How We Break’, with Penguin Random House.

Vincent, a practitioner health psychologist at Northumbria University, worked at the studio with our team to create this audiobook, and we loved every minute!

Vincent kindly left us a copy of his book, ‘How We Break’

How We Break 🍂

‘How We Break’ is the second instalment of his incredible ‘How to Live’ trilogy, which explores the trials and tribulations we face in our human life and getting to the heart of what it truly means to be human. ‘How We Break’ explores what really happens when our minds and bodies are pushed beyond their limits.

We were truly honoured to assist Vincent in adapting his book into an audiobook, and we feel touched to have been given the opportunity to help bring his insightful, and incredibly touching work to life.

A Pleasure To Work With 🥰

Vincent was an absolute pleasure to work with, and the whole team thoroughly enjoyed his presence here at the podcast studio.

The days he spent here were seamless, and he was a natural in The Nest!

Alongside our Production Manager, Samantha, Vincent recorded over 24 hours of content in total! Split up over 3 and a half days, Vincent demonstrated amazing diligence, and we were so surprised to hear he’d never recorded an audiobook before now!

We made sure Vincent had a never ending supply of fresh water, hot honey and Earl Grey tea, safeguarding his vocal chords from any potential strain!

A Big Week For Flamingo Heights! 🦩

Last week marked a significant milestone for Vincent, but it was also a big week for us too! This was the first project for our brand new Project Manager, Samantha Castro and what a first week it was!

Samantha did an incredible job, and took the project on so well. She demonstrated her brilliant skills, and delivered an outstanding result!

We even had brilliant feedback from Vincent, who said, ‘‘Sam, you made a first time narrator very relaxed and welcome.’’

What a way to end your first week at Flamingo Heights! We can’t wait to see what else Samantha accomplishes in her role, and we know we’ve hit the jackpot with having her as part of the flock!

The Future is Bright! 🌟

We also wanted to add that this project stands as a monumental achievement for our fast growing podcast studio.

Securing a client as substantial as Penguin Random House has been an amazing milestone for us. The trust they've placed in our capabilities has not only validated our expertise but will also help to amplify our studio's reputation within the industry!

We can’t wait to see what comes next for us in 2024!

‘How We Break’ is scheduled to be released January 25th 2024, and is now available for pre-order.
