We all love a good laugh, and it was clear from the start that this was what we were in for when Sophie McCartney and Lucy Couldwell arrived at Flamingo Heights Podcast Studio on Saturday afternoon to record a hilarious new episode of their smash podcast, ‘Tired & Tested’.

From the moment they sat down to record in the Shrimp Bar, we knew we were in for a treat - the energy in the room was nothing short of electric, and both ladies had us in stitches before we even hit record!

Currently, Sophie is on a UK tour for Tired and Tested, and during her stop in Newcastle, both Sophie and Lucy took it as a great opprtunity to come together and record an episode here in Lucy’s hometown. We were honoured these lovely ladies chose our space to do so, and what an absolute hoot it was!

A Talented Duo

Sophie McCartney, who shot to internet stardom back in 2017, is now a double Sunday Times Number One best selling author, and she's also established herself as a sought-after, sold-out stand-up comedian!

Her co-host, Lucy Couldwell, has over 15 years of PR experience, and is the founder of a succesful Talent Management and PR Agency, ‘This is CoCo’.

It was so much fun to be in the presence of two wonderfully hilarious and talented women. Not only were they podcasting naturals, but they also brought a plethora of laughter and smiles to the room. The stories they shared both with us and during their recording had us in stitches, it was sometimes too difficult to remain quiet behind the scenes!

Behind The Scenes

One of the joys of helping others to create their podcasts is being given the opportunity to witness the genuine friendship and camaraderie between hosts - and Sophie and Lucy were no exception. Their true friendship shone through every moment, making for an incredibly genuine and entertaining podcast episode.

What made their visit to the studio even more special, was when they offered to record a special video message for our founder, Ashleigh, who was in labour at the time of recording!

Tired and Tested

Although a fresh podcast on the podcasting scene, ‘Tired and Tested’ has already been a hit for mums and parents alike since its inception back in August.

In the podcast, Sophie and Lucy discuss the trials and tribulations of parenting, and discuss fun stories and parenting fails they have experienced over the years.

This refreshing podcast offers a candid and relatable glimpse into the often challenging, yet heartwarming world of parenting. Its jam packed full of humour, honesty and friendship.

Our personal favourite segment of the podcast was their very crude, yet hilarious exploration of the ‘Urban Dictionary’.

We had so much fun working with Sophie and Lucy, and we can’t wait util they’re back in the studio again!
